Haven't post in a while, but thought I'd share some of the glass rods that came off my bench over the last months.

Was lucky enough to get my hand on a C. Barclay 80p and build it out. Finished with a rattan grip, Lemke slide band with Maple insert and all metal stripper.

Next was a donation rod built for Casting for Recovery Colorado and given away at The Fly Fishing Show in February. Iconoglass 805 with a Lemke downlocking seat with a purple dyed Maple burl insert.

Last but not least is a 7'6" 3/4 Troutsmith blank finished with Ritz grip, Lemke slide band and dyed Box Elder burl insert.

Sir, those are all great looking rods. I especially appreciate the exquisite rattan handle and gorgeous maple burl reel seat on the Barclay.

I’ve been admiring that Barclay all over the place. Would love to get my hands on one of those (especially the 68) at some point.

Was my first time flaming the rattan...was a whole learning process in itself. Went from nicely colored to char black in a split second.

The event was super duper - I was like a kid in a fly fishing show....

Someone walked away very happy with this prize :

That rod was a looker - no one could get passed it. Well - not me.
