My first Ijuin build. I suspect I might love it. Planning to take it out next week.

Great epoxy work!

Is that Lemke hardware on the seat? Did you turn the bamboo spacer?

Yes, Lemke hardware, Ron Weber at Southwest Custom Rods turned the bamboo insert for me.

My epoxy work is actually Ace Hardware oil based varnish to get the translucent wraps, coated with a water based varnish I’ve been experimenting with.

Those Yomogi’s always seem to turn out nice. Great job.

Thanks for the kind words. I noticed some of the guide feet are not exactly aligned to the blank. Lol. Oh well. Something to pay attention to on the next build.

Also can’t decide if I should fill the cork.

Nice job. I agree with Double K about the shape or the grip. First thing that caught my eye. Should prevent any possible slipping past the fore end. Wraps look great with the varnish finish.

Very nice job!!! Suggest leaving the cork as is, kind of a character thing.

Great looking rod, I really like the grip. Did you shape it or did you buy it from somewhere?

Hi there. The grip started life as a 7” Struble cigar grip. I shortened it to 6” and reshaped it.
