Hey,

some very hot summer days have driven me to stay indoors. Enough time to finish a Ijuin "Sakura" 7'11" 5wt. As usual a mix of first and second hand parts I like: old Bellinger NiSi reel seat hardware, old and not so durable but nice matching NiSi stripper from D.A.M., old NiSi winding check turned by Udo Hildebrandt, Snake Brand Universal guides, Kimono Sedona Sunrise and New Bamboo silks tipped white.
15 years ago building a rod like this would not have been possible. The merit goes to guys running small shops to supply hobbyist like me with premium parts, here to name mb custom rods and Yamameflyrods. Thank you!

And thanks for having in look on the result of putting all parts together.

Regards
D.

Impeccable craftsmanship! Like everything about it, from the color choices of the thread to that classy reel seat.

All commentators thank you very much for your appreciation - and the kindness to overlook spelling mistakes because - of course - I wanted to say: "And thanks for having a look at the result of putting all parts together." Photography could be better too.
The colours pop up more with the rod down on the carpet...

The rod has passed yesterday's "field testing" on upstream micro nymphing with a personally granted A :) "A" serious challenge to bamboo...

That is a SUPERB job! The finish and craftsmanship is amazing. Looks even better beside that beautiful brownie. What reel are you using with it?

Thank you for your kind comment.

The match to this rod is a german made D.A.M Island 5205 fly reel. They were made between 1962 and 1967 if I remember right.
