i realized i spent very little time in my waders and boots this past year mostly due to fishing smaller feeder streams and creeks and that's ok.
i have owned one of tomo's 7'6" 4wt yomogi's for a few years and when covid hit getting blanks from him was almost impossible so when the chance came along this year i jumped on it. in a few weeks ill get to try this one for real. looking forward to it.

i followed Tomo's suggestions for guide placement but i did up size the snake brand guides one number. REC stripper, Fuji thread and the reel seat is one of Rays from eBay. i have compared his cap/ring seats to two other manufacturers that cost more and Rays has the best bite on the reels foot, just doesn't shake loose. lastly i ran out of dark green thread so i did the whole tip section in the light green accent color but i figured with a rod blank that is so bright light green to start with who the h*&& is going to be looking at my wraps. the raps are finished with 6 coats of Polycrylic.

Entire rod looks great! Look forward to future photos of it with fish.

Beautiful. And the green color on the reel seat insert is fantastic. And if you didn't mention the color difference on the tip, I wouldn't have noticed. You're right. The finish and thread work is great.

That blank is on my list of, "gee I ought to have one of those".

Very nice! I just received the same blank. Hoping to have it built by early summer for some small stream fishing here in CO.

FWIW, I think you guys that just picked up the Yomogi 703 are really going to enjoy it. Very soft, yet with reserve power if you need it. Best oif luck with them. Really fun rods to fight fish on.

Mine casts best for me with a Sci-Angler Heritage Ultra WF 3wt. Sadly discontinued.

its a solid 3wt. i didn't try a 4wt line but im sure it would over power the blank since it already bends about 8" above the handle. Very fun to cast fly rod for light flies out to 35'. Tomo's description says "Minimal Power" and i get that. its not a do everything fly rod but for dry flys #16- #real small, on a small stream, this might be hard to beat. fun to cast, has a deep bend that feels great but its still very accurate out to reasonable fishing distances for a 3wt. if everyday was a 3wt day i would probably use this all the time

This turned out really nicely. And I will second the choice of Ray Lee's reel sliding band seats. I have used a couple of his, and I will get more soon. Plus, like the one you have here, he selects some gorgeous woods.
