Been wanting to build myself a Steffen Bros. glass rod for a while. Pulled the trigger on this 7'3" 2/3 weight a couple months ago. Can't wait till the high country season next year to put a bend in this thing.

I think you will enjoy that rod.
I built the same blank and love it.
What line are you using?

Think it will be hard not to love it.

Haven't decided...was leaning on trying the Rio Creek line first and see how it casts, but would loved to hear some recommendations.

At present I’m using a wf2f Cortland Lazer Line.
I’ve tried a TT2, SA dt2. Cortland Whisper taper 3 and 2.
At the distances I’m fishing the Lazer Line feels best.
Perhaps the lighter line rods will be more sensitive to a few grains more or less for a given distance cast?

Thanks for the input! Yes, guessing I'm going to have to try a few before I find the one that works best...this rod will be fished in very specific water where a 25ft cast would probably be the longest I'll need.

Twenty feet would be about my average amount of line out plus a lengthy leader and that’s with the Lazer line.
I also find l have to keep the line clean to get the most out of such a light system but the effort is well worth it.

Nicely done. Really like the reel seat and thread color.
