I don't think I have ever posted any semi decent photos of these rods.
I have a copy of a 1956 Phillipson flyer that lists the X Series rods in 7 ft, 7 1/2 ft, 8 ft, 8 1/2 ft and 9 ft. I had an X80 that was sold to a member here and an X90 that I bought to restore, but it was too badly abused by the time it found me.
These are Eponite and with the gold spyral wraps and that beautiful swirled butterscotch blank, these rods are just stunning in the sunlight.
The action is slow and smooth and reminds most who try them of casting fine bamboo.
These rods are both HDH / 6 wt. The X90 was an HCH / 7wt I have yet to find an X70...but I am always looking.
