Hey there. Thought I’d post some pics from Winter Build 3.0 of the finished Cortland Pro-Crest. Thanks for taking a peek.

Thanks for the compliment. It turned out alright. I've only fished it once so far and caught a couple small browns. My initial impression is that it doesn't give up much, if anything, to current fiberglass, at least for normal fishing distances. Roll casts nicely. My script was a little shaky though...don't drink coffee before writing on a small cylinder I guess is the take away. :eek

Hi spielerman...Thanks for the nice words. I pasted the link below where I describe some of the process. Hope it gets you there.

FWIW I fished the rod with a 406 Fly Lines Vintage Series WF-5-F line. To me this rod is squarely a 5 weight and the 406 line works very well IMO.

Thank you for the link and read all of the posts.

What did you make the ferrule extension out of?

I think I will have to try this on one of my rods.

Hi spielerman...I made the ferrule extension from a piece of solid fiberglass rod from Proof Fly Fishing. I believe it's referred to as fiberglass stent on the website.
