This is a follow up to my previous L.L.Bean rod/reel post This time with the original maker brands (Timberline and Hardy). The rod and reel are of the same vintage - sometime in the 80's. The rod is new to me, but I've fished the reel a bunch - my dad bought it for me in England. It balances the rod nicely and I can wait to get the pair out on the water.

The last pic compares the labeling and construction between the L.L.Bean and the Timberline versions. Same handwriting. Same blank colors. Same wrapping and grip styles. The only difference is the branding and wrapping color (red for Timberline, brown for Bean).
