Here's an 8' 8wt W&M Sweetheart I found in a bundle of rods the other day. Very nice condition, it came in a fiber tube with rubber cap and no rod sock. It has a W&M up-locking reel seat and no Eagle Claw markings. Late 60's maybe?

I have a similar one, in fact it started my collection of glass rods.. before that I just had fishing rods, some of which were glass ;-)

here's the thread on it. The micro-ferrule and the Granger-style reel seat narrow down the possible years..

Thanks Doug! That thread didn't show up but I'd love to see it if you dig it up.

That is in incredible shape. I just bought a 7wt I’m going to post about because I have questions!

Very nice looking rod. Love the thread colors. Almost looks unfished.

It's a real dandy! Hard to tell if it's seen any time on the water. If so, it was very well cared for.
