This rod was assembled on an L. Kenney blank. Fuji orange wraps, lite wire Snake Brand guides, Lemke bronze seat w/ a bamboo spacer and a 7” full wells grip.

Awesome work as usual.
Like that cork and reel seat combo.

You have all the great rods.

Getting a Kenney is on my dream wish list.

Could you please describe the casting impressions and possibly the applications. Would you consider it an all round 5 weight, with dry/dropper and double nymph setup?
Thanks,,Will say it is a magnificent looking build. Clean and elegant!

Gentleman, thank you so much for the kind words. JAS Trout, yes the Kenney rod would make a fine all around trout rod. It’s one of the nicest if not the nicest medium action rods I have ever cast. It flex’s 3/4 of the way down the blank and has enough power in the butt to reach out to 50 ft. or more. A super nice refined moderate action. I fished it for the first time to day for bass and bluegill and it had no problem with an indicator and several nymphs. It also cast a size 12 tungsten beadhead bugger really well. I caught several 1 lb. bass and some 7” bluegill and they were very fun on this rod. It’s very light in had and is so smooth and airy just a real pleasure to cast and fish. It’s the perfect compliment to my ********* western 8’6” 5 wt.

Lanny

Lanny and/or others, how would you describe the differences/similarities to the ********* 8’6” 5wt? I own that Kenney but have always wondered about that *********...
