Built these out for a friend

First is a wonderful full flexing 8'3 4wt. I made the metal seat on this one and tried to show how the ring posts on cork check as you mount the reel. Insert is made of Birdseye maple.

Next is an faster and more powerful GTX 6wt built for bass and light salt

Both nice, clean looking builds Bob. I like the seat hardware on the 4 wt.

They both look perfect to me! I really like how the sliding ring can slide up and onto the cork check. Gives a little more room for the reel feet when mounting the reel. Great attention to detail! Cosmetically they are both awesome as well. Clean, classic style. Once you friend has a chance to see these beauties in hand and fish them hard for a bit, I will make sure he posts his experience reviews. As wonder as these builds are, I suspect that the action on these McFarland blanks are going to also be pretty spectacular and a great casting and fishing fit for their intended species and environments. You are truly a great rodsmith and friend Bob!

Those are really nice builds there Bob. I particularly like the detailed work you did on the insert with the mortising to get a good fit with the cap and ring set up.
