Hi there,

just finished that rod. Dedicated to one of the most stunning fish: the Golden Dorado
Got my hands on one of the last Seele Glass Blanks...sometimes you have to be Lucky.

Due to the fact, that Argentina is one of the main destinations for Golden Dorado fishing I worked an original Peso coin (coloured in white/teal) from Argentina into the Fighting Butt of the grip.

Blank: Seele Zeitlos #8
Reel Seat: Avante chrome
Spacer: stabilized maple Burl
Grip: custom burnt cork „Golden Dorado“
Guides: 9+1 Snake Brand
Wrapping: Pearsells Gossamer „hot orange“ and „gold“ with black trims

Cheers Jens

What a cool build! I love the hommage to Argentina with the coin. How durable is that grip?

It is burnt with acrylic colours sealed twice with U40 cork seal. So it’s pretty durable...

Wow. That's very impressive. Thanks for sharing!

I have worked a coin into a fighting butt before, but never added color like that. The flag effect is fantastic. Especially how you made sure the text stood above the color. And of course the Dorado on the handle is very impressive!
