Yellow Kabuto 6623

First rod of 2020. This Kabuto yellow 6'6" 2wt was a special order from a new customer. I used Gossamer white silk tipped in red. The reel seat is a piece of shop-turned honey mesquite with Lemke slide-band hardware. The red-banded agate from Joe Aguello rounds out the rod. I hate to see this one leave the shop!

Very pretty! Be sure to advise your customer to try a 3wt line on this rod. I like it better with a 3 than a 2.

I like mine with a DT2 or WF3. Fun rod....

He has a Cortland Sylk DT 2 wt for it. I will pass along that the 3wt works great too.

I took delivery of the rod on Monday, and while I havent gotten a chance to cast it it is truly beautiful and have no doubt it will be a great little rod. I have gotten many rods over the years and this sits at the top as far as attention to detail on the building process. I am already looking forward to ordering my next rod from Ben.
