It's been a while since I've posted so I thought I'd share this Kabuto 703 that I recently finished. Honey mesquite insert with Lemke hardware and a white agate stripping guide. Thanks for looking.

Chinese red (or thereabouts) tipped black with color preserver -- a very classic choice, reminiscent of some early bamboo rods. Beautiful execution! What thread did you use?

i fished my Kabuto 703 yesterday ,fun and versatile rod, i was using a airflo wf3 but it also likes a 406 DT4, nice job with the red wraps.

Was it the Fuji NOCP or regular? On closer look I can see the foot of the stripper so maybe regular and it retains its bright red because of the white blank?

It was the regular Fuji. Yes, since the blank is white the red thread maintained the brilliance.
