Hello
I'm very pleased to Present all my friends here a True Classic Fiberglass Fly Rod.
This Blank is the highly sought after 9' 5 Weight New Old Stock Fisher Glass.
After months of working together our project has happily finally come to a close.

The rod will soon be in the hands of my friend whom the rod was custom crafted.
Made to fit "The Little Guy" as my wife very affectionately calls him like a new suit of clothing. ;)

The grip style I named for the Jason a few years back, we call it the "Bristol Grip" The grip was fitted to Jays hand, another equally important part of the grips development included hours of my actually observing Jason fishing another rod I custom crafted for him.
By taking notes of my observations I was able to document the different grasping points and casting styles etc.
For decades it hadn't been uncommon to fine tune a grip fitting stream-side.

Fitting The Grip/Rod To The Fisherman is essential in custom rod making, unfortunately more often than not the proper fitting is overlooked by average rod builders.

Thanks again Jay for choosing me to put up this very special Fisher for you !!
I'm certain the rod will become a favorite ;)

Absolutely Gorgeous. I love the spiral wraps, and the epoxy work is great.

Hello
Thanks Folks !!!
Glad the rod passes Muster.

After shooting these photo's and chatting with Jay had the rod out on the dock lined up.
Shake Out !

We decided we wanted to compare the New Fisher side by side with my 9' 2/1 5 WT Old Fisher.
This New rod was a tad crisper than the old rod.

I'm not sure but was thinking the fact that my rod was made in 1981 and has seen allot of time on the water could be a factor, the guides on my rod are much heavier and do not spring into shape, the ReCoil Guides could also be a big factor.

Maybe my blank was rolled on a Friday afternoon right after lunch ??? :smokin
Both rods cast beautifully, effortlessly spooling my reels.

The Bristol is Really nice but slower to load than mine, more power than mine when loaded as well,The Line Shot Through The Guides much faster :eek

Sorry Took Pictures but none of them came out, seems I forgot the card in the computer ??
A Gray Moment. :|

Great looking build. I really like those thread colors on that blank. I would love to give that rod try!
