So many beautiful combinations, especially when also paired with fish in the photos! 2.75 Dutchess + 64P

Yessir, it's one of those combinations that just works! And it gets a ton of time!

The fishing was slow yesterday so I took a few pictures of my rod and reel. I love the look of this Trout Smith 5 wt with the burnt orange Galvan reel.

allegheny - You are having me on?
Sorry, and apologies to Offline Ecoe 07, but to me it is a total clash. Bright reels and subdued toned rods are not a match made in heaven. Nor the other way round I might add.

I like the look of the new medalists with an amber rod.

Just got a Hardy sintrix Sirrus, but didn’t know what to pair it with…. I could have gone hardy of course, but my friend has the same rod with a marquis, so thought about a S&P orvis battenkill, but I managed to fined a rare unused Shakespeare Centenary 2600… looks pretty sweet, the reel is gold in some lights but rose gold in others, it’s a nice click pawl. I’ve paired them with a Sunray short head #4, along with Blackridge Tightweave 20lb Backing Line.

seems I never posted this pair, and some of this thread could use some help - aesthetics being subjective and all

I find functionality aesthetically pleasing.

Couple outfits for throwing heavier stuff. Not real pretty, but will do the job.

Here's a SA System 10 with a 1498 Medalist with a Voss conversion.

Here's a 9' Wonderod with a 4" diameter Young Pridex. Had to put a pfoote reel foot on the Pridex to get it to work on most rods. Actually carried the reel around for years until I met Bill Franke at a show and he switched the seats for me.

Wonderods are always a mystery in longer sizes. Never know what you have until you cast them. I have found the ones with the fighting butts will always throw a bunch of line. This one is no exception.

So much eye candy. Here's some brass-on-brass action.

Barclay 70p and Leland Sierra Nevada Golden Trout. And Bloodroot, a harbinger of mayfly hatches in Virginia.

Beautiful combo, Yeti. The Barclay 70p is one of the finest glass rods ever.

What a thread! Amazing photos and I like seeing all the different styles. I'll have to refer back to this for inspiration on future builds. Here's my contribution.

A new-to-me St. Louis era Barclay 723, looking good with an Abel-made CFO II. Loving this setup!
