This is one of Dusty’s Western Glass blanks in Olive. My personal opinion is that this is one of best “all around “ tapers in a 5wt. I own one of these myself along with the 895-4.
This build is headed to a new owner in Tennessee.
Build features Lemke/Snake Brand 640 Uplock Seat with a shop turned Karelian Birch Insert, Western Style Grip, XB Stripping Guide, Snake Brand Universals.
Thanks for checking it out.

That's sharp Bill. Nice subtle burl accents on the grip.

Bill, that is incredible build. Love when aesthetics are balanced so nicely. Question: are there long wait on blank?

Thought I would chime in here, that 865 was a limited color run by my former supplier CTS (still have one in an 866 in case someone wants Bill to make them one). I will have 865's available in white or black in January/February rolled by my new supplier, McFarland. We are working on painting and hope to have Brown available as well. We are also still in the process of planning for our own blank rolling facility and I am in a search for a dedicated facility for ********* Rod. Sorry to hijack the thread but figured I could help with some questions.

Thanks!

Dusty

Love that olive color. I bought off a forum member an 8'3" western 5 wt that Lanny built. Absolutely cant wait to fish it, in New Zealand next trip. I wish the brown version was still avalable too!!!
