Had the opportunity to work on one of Fred's Lemon Drop blanks for a client recently. As usual, the blank is flawless and is a lovely yellow/tinge-of-green color. It's so smooth (as Fred's tapers often are). The guy knows his way around blank design.

As for the build, it's pretty straight forward... 6" cigar grip, stained maple seat, blued hardware made in-house, and lemon colored wraps tipped in lime green. The overcast lighting today was perfect to get some nice pics. Hope you enjoy the shots as much as I enjoyed building the rod!

Nobody does fittings like Leiderman. I love those ferrule rings! That agate matches the blank perfectly. And that butt cap is fantastic! WOW!

Thanks for the nice comments! New shop space has been great. Here are some photos I shared awhile ago on my Facebook page. Def. isn't this clean now! House move was unexpected (and happened quickly) but it was a great change for the family. Breaking down/setting up shop space isn't fun but the new space is well planned. Life's settling down a bit and I'm excited to get some rods out the door in the coming months.

As always, exquisite craftsmanship. Good to hear, and see, your shop is back up and humming!

There's so much to like about your builds Matt, but your hardware -- ferrule rings, checks, and reel seat-- flat out pop!

I would love to know more about your metalwork design and fabrication. Seems to me that in this aspect of your work lies a great story (the old journalist in me talking here). This elevates your work to another level. And IMO you are among the very best working rodsmiths.

Great to hear the move is done. I assume that if the shop is set up, other things are unpacked and setup too.

That shop looks fantastic and the dust collection looks great.

Oh, the Lemondrop looks fantastic. I always am amazed by your rods.
