Corey, I thought that one would be a head-scratcher. :)

Mas gave me that little "paperweight" in the Catskills some years back. Actually you're right, it is three reel feet hooked together. Mas machines three at a time and then breaks them apart. Or maybe a little vase for Ikebana.

well damn....I coulda joined in but alas, I'm down to 2 System 2s (seems more appropriate anyway)... The other is probably still bouncing around on the asphalt with my nearly new BAG 7wt attached (along with my custom made--by me--intermediate compact skagit head).

wait a minute, isn't this the "rod photos" sub-forum anyway? Nevermind...

:D At least this thread, 10 pages, should be called the "rod and reel and all things cool = eye candy" thread/sub-sub-forum! :D

:hat

mint, boxed
Takeru, showing this old example again, because it has a special place in Nyu-kon.
These reels were bought new in 1940, maybe given as gifts. But they were never fished, kept as family mementos for a generation, and then put on the collecting market.
Taking one fishing has a special obligation

This past trout season, these 3 Lami's were always rigged and ready to go at a moments notice. From top to bottom: 7' 3wt, 7.5' 4 wt, and a 8' 5wt - all with some flavor of Battenkill reel.
