Jukka - very neat vintage Hardy glass collection! Do you have a favorite among the three?

To be honest I have to say that I haven't used those a lot. Riccardi is my latest glass acquirement and I haven't even lawn (snow now here ... ) cast my own rod yet. I do know Riccardi and how efficient smart weapon it is from the past, I've had opportunity to test board member Fullflex's rod earlier. 7' and 7'6" JET rods are simply too light to typical conditions here in Finland. I've used 8' - 8'6" JET's a lot and those are one of my all time favorites.

It's been a bit for this thread so I figured I'd give it a boost. These are three of my favorites. All lovely. The one not labeled for line weight is an absolute cannon. Simply fantastic rods.

What about 'threes' you see while out and about ... on the way fishing?

I call the photo - Breaking and Entering

A collage of three poses of one raccoon that I saw run across the road in front of me. This photo was taken in plain view of the Tetons here in Eastern Idaho. Sorry if it is not directly related to flyfishing but I was on the way there ...

wcSage - a wonderful photo narrative. Love the look of that rascal after he's been caught in action.

Nasty creatures. We've had to relocate 8-9 raccoons (I bagged five in one night!) from our tiny in-city backyard over the past six months as they've been just tearing up our backyard. I don't know how our fenced backyard got on the Raccoon Superhighway.

top to bottom:
VF662 6'6" 2/1 #2(#3)
VF763 7'6" 2/1 #3(#4)
VF804 8'0" 2/1 #4(#5)

I consistently like each of these rods best overlined by one weight (line weight in parenthesis);
finding them a bit "fast and feel-less" with their rated lines, (at normal fishing distances of: 5'-30', 10'-40', 15'-50'; respectively ... )
but they really come-alive for me with a 1x heavier DT or WF line.

S-glass tip over butt construction
Excellent build quality.
Small sliding band seat.
Simple, small cork handles.

I could get rid of all my other trout-rods, and keep these three; and be very happy and satisfied indeed.

Corey, that's a very sweet trio. I hope you bring one to Mikes - love to cast a Quiet Loop sometime.

Corey - I had no idea that there was such an extensive range of Quiet Loop models. Very nice!

Very nice Corey. The QL's are on the fast side, to me the action with the designated line is in between a Steffen and a Scott F. The 763 I liked as a 3 or 4 but the 805 is IMO best with a 5DT.

Kerry Burkheimer acquired Russ Peak´s remaining inventory when he retired so yes those are most likely build on Peak blanks.

Jarmo,

Those Burkheimer-Peaks are absolutely amazing looking rods! The shortest one especially is just breathtaking. Any idea how many Burkheimer glass were made? Thanks for sharing!

Ah, Peak glass blanks; that makes sense now, although I'm more used to seeing the really dark brown Peak rods.

One would think/hope that Burkheimer might offer his own glass line in the future, based on his experience with Russ Peak and Tom Morgan glass.

Fullflex, I have no idea what kind of amounts these rods were produced. If I´m correct Peak made mostly graphite rods in the 80´s/90s´ so probably remaining glass blank stock wasn't´t big.

Fullflex - now that's a "rat problem" I wouldn't mind having! Image

I posted about my Ross Etna R-series reels a while ago and forgot to post the trio here.

hmmm ... River Rats ... Ross Reels ... looks like 3X Rsquared 2X. Seems Fullflex and docBD need to get together for a double R squared slam.
