Dipped and cured some silver and red 1/32 jigs. My first time. I like to tie up Buggers in black or olive with silver jig heads. And red for the Holschlag Hackle Fly. Used a small toaster oven for curing. Not all came out perfect but can still be used.

Very nice! I have dipped many jig heads, but never cured them.
Also I’ve never used bigger than 1/80 on a fly rod, how do those cast?

I’ve casted the Cabela’s 1/32 from the fly tying department and Arlie Lures 1/32 and they cast well on 5 and 6 wgt rods. I haven’t casted this brand yet which is from Amazon - Temorah unpainted jig heads.

very nice, I like those silver/olive buggers..

I cast 1/32 on UL spin gear with a Carey Special tied on the jig head, would have thought at least a 7wt to flycast them.. interesting, maybe should try.

My version of the Carey uses pheasant tail fibres for the rear half of the body, a dubbing loop with the grey filoplumes from the rump feathers for front half, ribbed with copper, then hackled with a rump feather. This gets some use out of my overstock of pheasant feathers, plus the whole thing is tied with feathers I killed and plucked myself, always a nice touch. It can be seen inside the mouth of the bass here,
