Ray Bergman mentions an Edward Ringwood Hewitt Hardbody Nymph.

Sorry, but other than the patterns in Bergman’s book I can’t find anything.

Take this with a grain of salt as I had not heard of this nymph previously, but always welcome an excuse to look into some older patterns. See below for a couple of pages from "The Founding Flies: 43 American Masters Their Patterns and Influences" By Mike Valla.

Looks and sounds like an interesting idea, but unfortunately, I cannot find the original dressing or photos of the proper Hewitt hardbody.

Short section on nymphs in the handbook doesn't appear to mention hardbody nymphs. Will look through other sections and see if can find anything.

Also have a sales pamphlet from Hewitt mentioning types of nymphs he had for sale.
