I couldn't add the following image as a comment to an already existing thread for some reason. Is something broken? Some weird database issue?

Will this image work as a "new thread" when it won't work as a comment?

Old posts can only be changed for 30 days. What is the thread where the problem occurred?

It was less than 30 days old. I filled out a reply window and pressed submit but nothing appeared at the end of that thread. Ah well.

recent changes to the forum structure won't let you reply after your post.
You should be able to edit to add to the existing post for up to that 30 days thing.

Nice pic! It would be interesting to learn what other styles did or didn't influence that one. With neat close-ups like that, it would be fun to see pics of the fly wet, fluffed "dry" as it would be in false casting, and floated or positioned on water as it would be fished. Similar to what is described here: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=70827#p387292

Any time I tie--what little I do anymore--something new or with different materials, I have a container of water handy to swish the fly through, float it, submerge it and so on to check what might happen in use and if it behaves close to what I was hoping for. These days I pretty much should do that even with familiar patterns, because a clumsy mistake in position or bulk can change the way the fly acts.
