Nice pic! It would be interesting to learn what other styles did or didn't influence that one. With neat close-ups like that, it would be fun to see pics of the fly wet, fluffed "dry" as it would be in false casting, and floated or positioned on water as it would be fished. Similar to what is described here:
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=70827#p387292Any time I tie--what little I do anymore--something new or with different materials, I have a container of water handy to swish the fly through, float it, submerge it and so on to check what might happen in use and if it behaves close to what I was hoping for. These days I pretty much should do that even with familiar patterns, because a clumsy mistake in position or bulk can change the way the fly acts.
