.........tied on a #18 Kumota scud hook. Well. The body is made on a needle and then mounted on a scud hook. Then the parachute hackle winds between body and hook.

I make these for the late summer lake fishing near my home in SW Montana. The fish are spooky and hard to catch although not necessarily pattern selective. I make these because I enjoy making them. They do float well, dry off quickly and always land upright.

A smaller one, tied on a #20 Kumota scud hook (this is vaguely a 16 or 18 size fly by standard metric).
