You know how most people like to toot their own horn? Well, I am just like them. I am very excited to see an article of mine in the Winter issue of Fly Tyer. Page 48, not that you were asking... Check it out if you have a chance!

Congrats on the article! I have never fished or tied with glass beads, but am curious. Hope to access your article online or if I can find a copy of the magazine.

excellent !

I bought some glass beads a year or so back but haven't tied with them yet.. I think Ed Engle was tying at the Denver Fly Show, one of his minuscule flies, and I've had good luck with his patterns..

I love your article! I use glass beads but from a craft store. Are beads similar in quality no matter where purchased?

NICE Goin. I use to tie a lot of glass bead flies. I guess, if ya live long enough, everything will circle back.

I got some at a Dollar Store, which were not very consistent is size and shape. Most of my beads have been purchased at Hobby Lobby, Michaels, or JoAnn. They are all of similar quality. If you see that the beads are made in Japan or the Czech Republic, they are sure to be of high quality and consistent size, shape and color.

I found after looking for a long time some 'tear drop' glass beads. They make fabulous eyes on nymphs ,wired together they are like glass bead chain eyes .Add a nice amount of weight and really glow.I just hope the fish are as enthusiastic as i am.
