My ceramic scissors have been my last thought in scissors - they nip everything including kevlar, don't bend under load, and have been sharp for 20 years.

20 yo Anvil, the open loop is a bonus since most scissors are designed for tiny hands. I tried on every scissor in the fly shop the day bought these.

Couldn’t agree more with this statement. Mine have gone back and forth between fly tying and rod building for years. Backup pair is collecting dust.

I have a pair of Thompson scissors as well. I didn’t know they were Anvils. They were the first pair of dedicated fly scissors I bought, probably 35 years ago. The longer blades are not as easy for me to use so they are my deer hair scissors, still very sharp after all these years.

I have a pair of black and gold hmh scissors that are really nice.

I too have always my scissors in hand when tying.

Dr. Slick are my favorite. I use the tungsten carbide the most. They have great customer service and stand by their lifetime warranty. I once broke the tip off of a pair of the tungsten carbide by accidentally dropping them on the floor. Contacted customer service, explained this, and they had me send in the broken pair for a replacement. I didn't expect them to but they did. Based on the experience and the fact they're well made. They're the only brand I buy.
