I tied this on a #8, and tie streamers on 10 & 12 and I fish with a 3,4 &5 wt

Amazing work. Swedish, I don't know 'match the hatch', but the bug with the orange skull excites me. Delta bass would murder that I'm sure.

I tie a #6 to 10 double wing Caddis but i leave the head of the deerhair wing big and boxy

That's why I like fishing with bucktail, super easy to cast, yet has the presence in the water and pushes a bunch of water...kinda like your deer head on yours.

that's a terrific minimalist crawfish, very nice..

all our smallmouth have gone deep for the summer, I battle to find them now in the deep reservoirs. In a month or so the shad spawn will have flooded the water with forage, and it's a lost battle to interest them in anything artificial..
which is a prolix way of saying I don't have any productive bass flies ;-)

tied up an imitation of a jig-n-pig, using a sculpin head, many wraps of marabou just behind, with mottled rubber legs, and a tail of pine squirrel plus more legs. This works sometimes if the fish are around,



for largemouth, best fly I have is a 5-6" streamer with a long deerhair head about 2", short sparkle chenille body, then tail of hackles tied Deceiver-style with some flashabou. It's a brute to cast though so often try to fish something else..
