New here, so please be gentle!
Here is a recent Goddard Caddis. I find them to be difficult!

May be difficult but I think you nailed it.

I think you did a great job. Yours is much better than I have done. I never fished with one until a couple of years ago when I first went to Aurelio's. He had a friend who spent some with us and he fished nothing but a Goddard caddis. Since then, I always have a couple in my fly box.

Aside from the quill antennae breaking off just by looking at them (synthetic replacements work great), I've had good success with them and yours looks fine!
This is one of those patterns that take me so long to build that I am happy paying for perfect, tightly packed ones made by smaller, nimbler hands!

Yours is better than mine.If that is bit on the large size(#8-#10) it would be a good imitation for the October Caddis.Nice fly.

Beautiful job. I've never actually tied them with antennae, but yours look very nice. I am a fan, particularly on rough water or low light conditions.

Thanks, I have been really trying to get this pattern down. I ended up using all of my tan deer hair and so now I am raiding the bass popper colors and mixed some to keep tying.
My local fly shop is closed so there will be some odd colors coming...
This pattern was the first I ever caught a fish on, so it holds a special place in my box.

I leave the antennae off for simplicity, plus it's easier to tie the fly on to your leader. Still the best adult caddis dry fly ever tied.

Very nice, I have not tried one yet, but with to much time on my hands, maybe now is the time. If mine turned out half as nice as your I would be a satisfied old flyfishing/flytying fart!

Great ties EB. Looking good.

I have a buddy who has tied a size 28 Goddard as a stunt, personal challenge. He has shown it to me several times. I don't doubt him but to me it looks like a speck/tuft of hair to me lol.
