Thanks! It's a Michigan pattern. Looks more like a caddis but I like it for its simplicity.

Cheers!

Puterbaugh's caddis. I normally don't use foam much but this one floats well with a nymph under it and doesn't need a lot a floatant reapplied.

Tying more of what I call “4wt bass flies”.
Certainly use different wt rods, and almost always use a dropper or dry trailing fly.

Killer for bass, panfish and to my surprise- trout. Great in place of a strike indicator.

Typically dressed with floatant, both are awesome as streamers using a sink tip line.

Nice ties, Swedishfish218, interesting to hear that they could be effective as streamers. what size are they?

EB Newfarm, that fly standing hook point up with the wings where a throat hackle might be is a very interesting and cool fly. Do you find that it is less likely to snag, designed as it is? I am not familiar with that fly or how it fishes.

Nice. Sometimes ultra trashy is just the ticket! Does the connection make a click or rattle when fished? I bet the takes are hard. I wonder if it would do well in muddy or stained water, if it makes a little noise when swimming?

bocast,
I was copying a fly I saw online somewhere, and have never actually fished that one. I liked how the hook resembled a mayfly profile and was working on making moose mane bodies.
In reality, I doubt it would land right in the water, nor fish very well, I was just trying for a unique tie.

I had never tied an RS2 before last night, but I had to tie up a dozen for a customer. This is on a size 19 Tiemco 102Y hook.

Are you using the RS2 primarily as a nymph? I hear of people using it as an emerger in the film, but unless you trailed it behind something visible, I wouldn't be able to see it.

In smaller sizes, I put the RS2 behind a blue winged olive dry, or in larger sizes I will let it ride in the film alone when fish seem to be splashing at my dry but not hitting it.
