Anyone on here pretty adept at tying speys and dees? I've been teaching myself for about 2 yrs now and I still have not been able to grasp the method of tying in the wings properly ...

Those are lovely flies. I haven't tied many classic spey/dee patterns, but I like to incorporate flowing soft hackle anytime I can. Here is a spey zonker and the spey version of Royal Coachman trout streamer.

I just dust off my spey/dee book, and think about some shrimpy style ... now ... there is some nice patterns here!

I sure do. These were tied last winter! I just don't tie almost every day-like I used to do. All the flies you see in my posts are tied by myself.

Nice spey/Dees Harley. The hackle looks like Pheasant rump feathers or is it something else?
