Clear wraps or no?

I can see the appeal of clear wraps however I prefer wraps where I can see the thread work.
I like to see conservative trim/inlay wraps and some of you folks out there are masters beyond belief.
I can wrap a blank but I wish I had the finishing skills of some of you out there.

You can have both clear wraps with colored trim if you use Sharpies to color the trim wraps.

Also, you can do the main wraps, but on half of the finish you would normally do, add the trim wraps, CP them (water-based; don't worry about getting the CP on the other finish, it won't hurt anything), then complete the finish.
