Hi there Everyone,

After searching through posts, it looks like some folks have preserved Wonderod decals using water based varnish, Threadmaster, and decal sheet overlays. I'm thinking about going with the decal sheet since I might be able to use it for something else too. Anyone care to share their experience?

This decal needs a little help too. Not sure what to do with it. Other than the wrinkles, it looks great. Any suggestions?

Cheers,

George

I use water based over the script & decal and then a thin finger coat of Threadmaster Lite if desired. If it’s an earlier balsa core blank, I thoroughly clean and then finger coat the entire blank to prevent fungus from getting in a crack and then creating streaks in the balsa. I’ve had some success removing old fungus color with bleach from balsa cores. The newer “double bilt” blanks don’t have that tendency because of their inner hoop.
