Solid glass rod rebuild?

I picked up a bunch of old mostly bamboo rod parts and pieces. In the bundle was a solid glass rod. A tad over 7’
Cheap cork and heavy reel seat. Clear glass. Really can’t give it a test cast or wiggle because the aluminum ferrules look like something I made in Junior High shop class. The real question is, is this something I want to mess with as a rebuild? Part of me says do it with clear wraps . Then part of me says “ you have enough rods, make it a tomato steak.”
Thoughts? Ideas?

treat it like a fishing trip. One more cast.If you don't try you will never know.
Easy to just tape on a few guides , attach a line and try before you go to far.
Too many rods?

Give the old ferrules a quick clean and see if they fit. If they are functional, then decide. If the old ferrules are toast, save the blank for future glass ferrule stock. Fitting new ferrules to an old solid blank is not cost effective.
