not quite sure where to put this thread, but i did want to pose a question to you guys.

i'm not really content with my current travel tying kit, and i was wondering what system you all find best.
a buddy of mine gave me his JW outfitters ultimate tying bag. it's huge and can hold everything you could ever want. a nicely engineered bag. but as it's got so many pockets/compartments, you end up filling them all. now i've got this "great" tying bag that i need a wheelbarrow to carry around. i loose important ingredients in its depths all the time. for long trips it's fine, but for the more common 1 to 3 day trip, it's really overkill!

so, how (and in what) are you guys packing for the shorter trips?
looking forward to your feedback ...
-mike

I just pack a simple hand vise, bobbin, thread, hooks, head cement, scissors, a little deer hair, dubbing, wire etc in a small toiletries bag and leave it in the fish car ...
