I recently purchased a long brake adjusting screw from Joe Burg at One Pfoot for a Medalist 1495 1/2 that I am restoring. Unfortunately Joe did not include instructions on how to replace it. The instructions included were for the handle replacement. I've tried to get in touch with Joe for almost a month with no response via email. I hope all is well with him.

Does anyone have the instructions for this replacement part or can walk me through the steps?

I do not have them but I know they can be found on this site via the search function.

you're welcome - a lot of questions are already answered on the Mechanical Bits thread - that's why it's a stickie.

This may be of some use, I replaced the brake screw on my 1595 1/2 RC awhile back…

I probably pried the screw retainer up too much to get the old screw off and the new one in, you can see it bent up all the way to the first mini rivet. I also scraped the paint a bit in the process because I used a metal sharp edged screwdriver. This was not a vintage reel so I wasn’t particularly gentle. If you have not made the swap yet those are my couple small mistakes you might learn from.
