Hahaha. We'll figure the question is about Citrus-Strip or another brand of citrus-based finish remover. I guess it might work fine, but not easily and not without brushing and/or steel wool. So first I'd want to consider why any old finish was being removed and what outcome was wanted. If recoating it were the goal, it might be just as easy to buff off any rough spots, clean the old surface thoroughly, and refinish over it.

The paint is pretty flakey in places and is slowing down the Centerpins as it sheds and gets caught around the spool. I’d like to have a uniform finish where I wouldn’t have to worry about any more flakes
