I'm in the process of cleaning/lubricating, a new to me, 3 1/2" Battenkill fly reel, made by Young. On the back plate of the reel is the typical "Regulator" lever for drag. The lever moves a cam-like piece, on the reel's inside, to change tension on the spring. Does that cam require lubrication also and if so, should it receive grease, or oil?
Thanks kindly!
Bill

It doesn't take much oil - a drop on the pivots, a drop where the cam and spring slide - sop any that runs away so it doesn't collect crud.
I apply the lightest film of grease to the cam/lever contact - this works best with the springs removed.
Again, don't leave any extra.

My, you're on the job early today, Ron! But I'm not all that surprised.
Thank you for providing some much-appreciated clarity on the matter.

Yes, I have one of those alarm clocks, too. Mine's orange and white.
Thanks again!
