Are Lord Weldon reels any good ? and what Martin reels work well on a 5 & 6 wt ? Thanks for any info. If these questions have already been asked I apologize.

The Lord Weldon reel is essentially a copy of Pflueger Sal-Trout. Can't tell you whether it's as nicely made as Sal-Trout.

Pretty much all Martin reels will work with 5- to 7-wt - they have one basic spool between all the narrow Martin reels.
If you have a WF5 on a light rod, LM45 (Browning Strada MZ34) is a hugely desirable reel.

TC Hobo, Welcome to the Forum!

I haven't handled a Lord Weldon. The Pflueger made, similar looking Sal-Trout is a fairly large capacity reel. The Martin reels are smaller, but still large enough to hold a typical 5/6 weight line with backing. Martin spools are not necessarily interchangeable between different models. Often it is easier to simply buy a complete Martin reel than to search for a spare spool.

no offense, Tom, but capacity of Sal Trout and Martin 6/7 is about identical.
remember, Sal-Trout has pillar large arbor.

This is a WF5 over backing and 40 yds of lead core to balance an 8-1/2' cane rod.
