Does anyone know if the SA One Thirty and the Hardy Viscount 130 Trout are similar reels. From pictures I see the Viscount has what appears a different spool release. Not sure if same frame or if spools are interchangeable.

Thanks,
Barry

According to several previous posts I found, the reels are the same.

If I may be so bold - that is one reel that if you plan to purchase, do always make sure to see the inner plastic ring is in a complete full circle.

Those that are not should be avoided, not just for cosmetics...

Brian,

Is this ring any different than the ones used on many of the Marquis reels? Is it a different material?

Thanks,
Barry

the ring is metal under plastic I believe.. never saw any Hardy reel except this one, that used it..
My Viscount 130 Mark II has the same ring. It survived ten years of quite heavy use, fishing 4-5 days a month. Then I moved and haven't fished it much in years, but it's still going strong.
As Brian says, if the ring is broken the pawl won't work right..

Here is a Hardy Marquis 6 Multiplier with what appears to be the same round spring.
