Hello all .

Just wondering , the Martin 67A and 67SS look like the same exact reel , except for the palming spool on the 67SS . Will the SS spool fit on the 67A ?

Thanks for any help !!

David

it's possible they have different diameter spindle.

Martin used two different spindle diameters, and apparently switched them out without rhyme or reason.
I have LM45 and Strada MZ34 - three reels, but one of the LM45 had different spindle from the other two - I sold that one.
Also have 2 spare spools that fit the other two, and the different spindle diameter I sold had a spare spool.

I have both these reels. In short the 67SS spool will not fit the 67A frame. The outer cage ring on the 67SS frame is thinner in inside diameter to accommodate the flanged spool. The 67A has a fatter diameter outer ring and the flanged spool will not seat over it. The 67A spool will fit on the 67SS frame but there will be a large gap between the spool rim and the frame ring. FYI, the MG 7 spool will fit the 67A if the color difference is not an issue.
