I apologize in advance if I get any of these terms wrong since I just learned what the parts were called earlier today.

Is there a place online that sells replacement parts for medalists? Specifically, i am looking for a ratchet that is reversible from RH to LH retrieve. I went to the onepfoot site and the replacement part link doesn’t work. I also went to what someone said was their new web address from the sticky thread at the top of this page and that URL gives me an error when I click on it. There is also a site called something like ereplacementparts but they say the part is obsolete and has been discontinued. And ebay doesn’t seem to have anything.

The reason I ask is I recently bought two of the Kmart Medalist clones, one 33 and one 44. The 33 is reversible but the ratchet for the 44 doesn’t have the shelf carved into both sides so it is stuck in RH retreive mode.

Thanks.

It's sad, but it seems like the latest owners of OnePfoot are also no longer in business.

Bill's legacy deserves better...

In the meantime, it seems that M-Parts are the only option.

I sent an email to One Pfoot asking if they are no longer in business or hopefully just having server issues. I was planning on ordering some parts as well. I’ll update if I get a reply.

I checked in with Dan Hill (former owner/operator of onepfoot) recently and learned that he’d shifted operations to his cousins, Joe and Jamie.

The new owners/operators are in the middle of having a newborn and may be slow to respond, but I did get a paypal invoice for an order I’d sent to Dan that he had passed along.

They’re still in business, but given the above situation it will likely take a bit longer than usual to respond to/process orders.

On eBay seller "mrgenesee" almost always has used Medalist parts on auction. I believe he is also a member on this board "mrriver"
He doesn't currently show a ratchet, but you can message him there or pm/email him here and inquire, I think he may part reels out.

OneFoot is in business, they are just working on their website. I contacted them about 3 weeks ago. I think might just need to be patient.

It appears the One Pfoot website is back up:

https://onepfoot.com/parts/

And in fairness to the competition:

http://www.classicflyfisherman.com/M_PARTS.html

Thanks everyone. Looks like I shouldn’t have any issues getting the needed part.

Wanted to provide a quick update. I ended up ordering from both Classic Fly Fisherman and Onepfoot, getting a drag plate from each and some springs from Onepfoot.

Delivered: 8-24-2021

Classic Fly Fisherman
Order Placed: 8-19-2021

Glad you’re getting parts from onepfoot. I sent them a reel in early July. I’ve sent multiple emails trying to confirm receipt of the reel, but have had zero response from them.

I did not reach out to them so I am not sure how their communication is. Hopefully they received your reel and just forgot to let you know, but it certainly is a bit concerning to not hear back. When I ordered from Classic Fly Fisherman I called the number on the website and spoke directly with Bob.

I’ve been in touch with Joe a few times recently and he has been very responsive.

Sorry, I'm going to lock this thread. We can't verify various accounts of how small companies do or don't service customers. This is not the place to air customer service disputes. Common sense in purchasing is needed. I'll just say, don't wait. If a product isn't promptly shipped, cancel the purchase and request an immediate refund. The same principles as explained in the buyer's guide or, really, any source on OL purchasing apply.
