Hi All! I recently bot a Cast aluminum reel called a Tahoe out of San Jose. Frame has a double metal line guide (left or right)! Clicker is the issue. Its regulated by a REVOLVING switch on the outside. Reel doesnt engage the ratchet inside. What could be the problem? Anyone have experiences with this cute reel?
Bummed!

the photo that Russ linked is a caliper clicker - no direction to it - nothing rotates, it slides in and out. The diamond shape of the pawl holds it in the spring when it's engaged, and spits it out when its disengaged.
If it does rotate, that may be a cam on the pawl that still has the effect of sliding it in and out.

Hello Bulldog: you are correct. My reel has a DIAL drag adjustment instead of a up/down clicker. The dial button on the outside has broken loose from the internal cam! It simply Rotates freely wuthout engaging the cam mechanism! Can this be fixed? Or am I stuck with a free wheeling spool?
Whether an Earlier or Later model, Id call it a Failed Model. The handle doesnt rotate either!
Curious reel!

I was trying to help you out with a picture. I think you need a photos like stated to get a good answer to your question. Can you simply epoxy the cam wheel fully engaged?

I agree with Russ - JBWeld is perfect stuff - it's often difficult to get a small mass of epoxy to cure properly, even mixed well in a larger mass, but JBWeld cures in tiny daubs.
