It seems there might be the possibility that valentine might re-introduce their click-pawl
single action reels in the near future, I really do hope so.
The models would presumably be the 76/83/89 those sizes would cover nearly all my
Trout & Grayling fishing, perhaps if people send Valentine an email and show interest
that would get them moving on investing in new equipment.
Does anyone have one of their reels and what do you think about them.

Valentine single action reels were not click pawl, but pancake disc drag - Very Nice reels.
Their click is a Medalist type ratchet plate, and why we call this reel the Medalist on Steroids.

Have a model 83 Valentine reel and love it! if they reintroduced them I'd be first in line to buy one. It's paired with a South Fork Rod Co. 8'6wt. rod, built by Dave Redington while he was between gigs. Nice inexpensive combo that is sturdy and dependable.

Kind of like a Pflueger on steroids. Nice reels. I have two on NIB 8/9 and a second #95 that I use on a backup rod in the salt. Can't bring myself to use the 8/9 in the salt. Too nice...

The owner did indicate he might be bringing out a new reel at least according to Scott at the Bears Den when we had a discussion not too long ago.

The 89 is one of the reels I definitely regret getting rid of. All around solid reels that look great too! I'm too hard on my stuff to keep it looking really nice, so maybe for the best.....ha!

I would buy a 76 single action or two if they were ever produced again.
