Does anyone know if Scientific Angler made reels smaller than the 456 in either a SA 1 or SA 2 configuration? I have never seen any advertised or for sale so I assume the answer is no but someone out there may have more of a definitive answer. Thank you

I have a System 2 size 2/3, with a wf 3 line on it. They seem to be uncommon, as I’ve only seen one on EBAY in the 5 or 6 years I’ve perused the site.

Then they do exist, I would like to come across one for use on a 3 wt. A 456 works but I think a 2/3 would complement a small rod better, thank you

The earlier, Hardy built, Scientific Anglers System reels came in a System 4 size (same as the Marquis 4). The Daiwa built System 1 One only came in 456 and 789 sizes. The Daiwa equivalent were models 706 and 708. Daiwa made similar looking fly reels over the years (Lochmor and others?).

I have a System 2-L in 4/5. I know that’s not smaller but it’s a rather light reel. I have a WF-3 on it and pair it with a 7’ bamboo.
I’ve had it for a long time and it’s always a performer.
