What do you all reckon a good price is for a decent condition System 5 reel in this market?

we're in a strong market, and there are variations in the reel.
For a mint Marquis 7 with the hairpin springs and yoke, I paid $225 years ago, and considered that an enduring value for that reel in that condition.
Wouldn't surprise me for a System 5 to go for that much in today's market, but I wouldn't be the guy in that market.
Decent is a pretty wide descriptor, and I would estimate $150 as a low-end price for a reel with rash.

Right on. Thanks bulldog!

Do the Marquis reels go for more than the comparable SA ones, I take it?

The Hardy reels probably do go for a bit more but there really isnt any difference in them except for the name.If you can find either one for as Bulldog said $150.00 grab it.
