I was told this reel was manufactured by Ross. There seems to be some supporting evidence - the handle, the latch cover, shape, and lots of delrin parts.

I appreciate the unique porting and anodized color.

Any information would be appreciated.

I actually made a call to Ross about that reel. At first they thought I was crazy, but after some discussion and emailing of pictures, they agreed that parts of the reel were Ross made. I spoke to a technician who had been with the company for many years and she said she recognized the spool pattern from their parts inventory.

Awesome! thanks for the detective work ;)

Do you have one of these reels?
I hadn’t seen one before, but was pretty sure it was a Ross.

Do you mind forwarding the info they sent you?

Enjoy the holidays!

PM me your email address and I can forward on the email string from Ross. They made two models - ADM60 and ADM80 - both the same aside from size. I traded them to my brother, but I know he still has them. I think one had the box and leather reel pouch, but maybe not the paperwork. I'll check and post some pics if I track them down. I think they're good looking reels. Interesting drag mechanism that works well although not super powerful.

Appreciate it!

This reel came new in the box with the paper work and leather bag.

Would A.D. McGill be Drew McGill, one of the co-founders of Wright & McGill?

Yup, so these reels would be a redesigned version of the older A.D. McGill Autograph Model 3/3B reels that lots of the forum members are probably familiar with. Aside from the name and a similar color, they don't have much in common and the newer ones are way nicer in my opinion.

Any date range info on when these AD McGill reels were being made by Ross? I’m not finding much info about them out there. Love to find one.
