So I have a couple of old "classic" fly reels that have some usage rash and paint loss. They are either cast or stamped medal. Noting "collectable" or of value more than $20 or so. ( i.e. I'm not worried about ruining a classic.) I was thinking about stripping the old paint off them, doing some fine sanding and then repainting as an off season project. Has anybody done this with success? Suggestions on how to go about it?
