This has probably already been discussed but I couldn’t
find it anywhere in the search, but I am trying to determine how to change the direction from this reel from right hand to left hand.

Suggestions?

Les

the bottom disc looks very much like a one-way disc (one-way washer) clutch, similar to the kind used by Martin.
But everything above it has to come off first, anyway - if that's a roller bearing on top, you should be able to determine that.
Find the clutch and flip it.

Great advice- I removed the clip ( keeper) then broke the pieces down to the plate I figured out the black plastic part must be the roller drag of which you spoke. Once I flipped it and mounted the other parts on the spindle, the retrieve became left hand.
the other necessary change was removing the clicker and flipping it to correspond to the left hand retrieve- much like you flip a pawl.
In short it works.
