I have the System 7 reel and so far so good. Hardy Marquis spools of that period also work on SA-badged reels; a nice plus, since spare spools are easy enough to come by on this forum or on EBay. $20 is a steal indeed! My setup (including the extra spool) cost me ~$150.

Capacity on it is nice, although mine is currently holding my 6-weight floating and sinking lines.

I never tampered with the spring, preferring to pimp the pawls, that made my Marquis much quiter and it is almost silent winding in and a bit louder, if line is taken -
you can adjust it exactly to your preferences
