Very nice build, Archer. Love the simple, crisp style. What is the wood used ? Looks like cedar in the photo.

Thanks!

The side and front wood are western red cedar, and the background plywood is aspen. I wanted it to look like a shadowbox but allow easy access to the contents, so there are hidden hinges on the right side of the front frame, which is held closed by rare earth magnets embedded in the wood on the left side.

The horizontal piece of wood supporting the rod sections is drilled for the rods, and then split lengthwise through the holes and also held together with rare earth magnets.

Hope that makes sense!

All great, but this one really caught my eye. Tasty design, and a nice bit of woodworking.

not so - you have glass covers to keep the dust off - that's the most important thing - and it looks sharp

Thanks all. I'm blessed that the space is small so I can only fit so much stuff!

At long last I got around to properly utilizing my apartment's built-in:

Everything else is literally everywhere, so pictures would be more of an
open-house than a reel and tackle display... However, I am in the process
of organizing everything and will be building a functional rod tube holder
in the near future. There is a ton of inspiration in this thread, so a big thanks to
everyone that has posted.

Looking at this whole old thread for inspiration on rod and reel organization and storage. Makes me feel simultaneously better and worse about the state of my rapidly growing collection.

I kept my reels in good fleece-lined cases in a container store bin for too long. Used to be an ebay seller who made great cases, in canvas and leather, and I snagged a large number. While she was going, one for every new reel - ok, make that every old reel that didn't come with its own case. I was disappointed when she told me she was moving on. The number of reels has outgrown the number of cases, but the bottom drawer in my wood curio has all the cases, and I can grab one when I'm heading out with a reel.

Can't remember the name, but before, the Canadian shop that repair-rep'd Hardy (Pure Fishing took that away from them), I bought several of their very nice hard leather Hardy-logo cases to match Hardy's.
